Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings
· Open the Windows Settings using the Win+I keyboard shortcut. From the Settings page, select the Devices Printers scanners. Choose to "Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings" as highlighted below: Next, select Use an existing post, then select the port on the list the printer is connected to. Usually a USB port. Select "Start" and type "printers" in the search box. Choose "Printers scanners". Select "Add a printer or scanner". Wait for the "The printer that I want isn't listed" option to appear, then select it. Select "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname", then select "Next". Select "TCP/IP Device" in the "Device type" list. In the Find a printer by other options window, select Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings, and then click Next. In the Choose a printer port window, select Use an existing port, select USB (Virtual printer port for USB) from the drop-down menu, and then click Next.
In the Control Panel window select Devices and Printers. In the Devices and Printers window click on Add a printer. Choose "Add a local printer or network printer with manual settings", then click Next. Select Create a new port and choose Standard TCP/IP Port, then click Next. Go to the Start menu, and choose Devices and Printers. Toward the top left of the dialogue that appears select Add A Printer. Select Add a Local Printer. NOTE: This is the counter intuitive part. Even though the printer is indeed a networked printer, you must add it as a LOCAL printer. Select Printers scanners in the menu on the left. Click Add a printer or scanner. Click on The printer that I want isn't listed link. Mark the Add a printer using TCP/IP address or hostname, and click Next. In the Device type drop down, select TCP/IP Device.
